When the news of mass failure in recent UTME splashed online as soon as the first batch of results was released, what flashed through my mind was this scriptural saying:
“If the foundation be destroyed, what can the righteous do?” Ps.11:3
Or let’s reason it this way “if our nation’s educational foundation is weak, what can even the naturally intelligent students do?” Of course, the option left is mass failure! So sad!
See, Nigerians are among the most intelligent people in the world! That’s why a few that has the opportunity to school outside the country shine like a million stars among their peers abroad!
Have you ever pondered why our children excel abroad and fail at home? I know you may conclude, ‘children of nowadays only know how to press phones and don’t even read their books’. The question is don’t children abroad also press phones?
There’s no magic! If they are well tutored in a good learning environment, they will excel. If our educational system is tailored towards 21st century learning integrating digital resources, our children will be more interested to learn.
If all concerned: school administrators, parents, teachers and students will all shun exam malpractice, candidates will only be left with one option-TO READ!
A child that cannot confidently write and pass Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, English Language, etc. in WAEC by himself without assistance (malpractice), how can he now score 300 in JAMB Computer Base Test (CBT) where he can hardly cheat? It doesn’t work that way!
Not to say the UTME CBT Centres don’t have their own problems too. Candidates are said to be helpless in some centres where even the computers are malfunctioning! Do you know that some of these students are not even exposed to computers in their various schools?
Even the COVID-19 lockdown did not help matter. It really affected the students as they are being rushed after schools resumed. Remember we were shouting: ‘school owners move your schools online, parents enrol your children in AdasiScience online UTME classes before it gets late’ Didn’t we?
The most worrisome part is the “rich kids” who have the opportunity to attend the best of the private schools, paying huge school fees, yet don’t even want to do anything for themselves, rather than chatting, eating chocolates and watching spiderman!
Of course, their own case may be different! They still have a chance to attend some of the best private universities as long as they can score, 160 and above! Even at that, gaining admission to study a highly competitive course is one thing, ensuring your child has a solid foundation to excel and stand out in his or her chosen profession is another!
Yes! We’ve found a solution! The only way is to fix it from the very foundation! At AdasiScience we trace the problem down to its roots, even when the child started hating Elementary Mathematics and just fix it! Anywhere, you are at the comfort of your rooms!
Not for everyone though but specially for those in Sciences! AdasiScience Foundation Primer Tutorial Course for those preparing for SSCE & JSCE and AdasiScience Foundation Extraordinaire for JUPEB & 100Level Students!
